George Stancombe's Bio. Owner/Driver
The Team of George & Micheal Stancombe, a father & son offshore duo from Indianapolis Indiana, are back !!!!!
George, also known as Dad, started his racing career at the early age of fifteen. He drag raced his 1950 Olds and won, and to this day he still obtains the trophy. George went on to win more and more races, but finally winning the US Nationals at Indy, when Micheal was still a baby.
His offshore career began in the early eighties, when he and his son, Micheal, bought a Monza hull. They built a big block Chevy for it, and designed, built, and installed their own propulsion system, which worked great. Years later, George bought several hulls and raced them. He was called to drive other teams boats, for he had skills on the wheel. That man can drive.
His first winning season was in 1995, but in 1996 George achieved the pinnacle by pressing on to win his first World Championship in Key West. He started on the season with his 32 Skater, then ended the season in a newly purchased and built 36 Skater. Both hulls were formally know as RagaMuffin fame. In 1998, George was in a crash in Biloxi, that nearly took his life. Luckily, Ryan Beckley helped save the boat and got it back to the crane. A year later, the job of rebuilding her began. Below was the result. She continued on her winning ways too. long story, more to tell. Check our blog.

Micheal Stancombe's Bio: Throttleman
Micheal, just like his father, began his racing career at an early age, peaking an interest in boat racing. His facsination for speed, led him to race other motor sports, but returned to his passion for racing on the water.
Former national champion and buddy of Georges, Terry Witham, helped train Micheal capture third place at his very first race in the JMOD runabout class. On this hull, Micheal, with the aid of his father, started shaping the bottom of boats. Through the process of trial and error, they both learned hydrodynamics.
Micheal pursued and acquired a sponsor to chase his dream of racing motocross on a full ride bike, purchased by Jugs Catering and Keystone Harley/Kawasaki. He preformed very well, but everyone knew and believed his eye was still on the water.
As 1984 rolled around, Micheal and George built the Monza, as stated in his fathers bio. They both proceeded testing the boat, making necessary changes to drive angles and props, while video taping runs on the home waters of the mighty White River, in Indianapolis. It was at that time, Micheal knew what he wanted to do. To fulfill his dream, he pursued to know and understand everything about boat racing, by working for multiple marinas and a prop company. In Sarasota Florida, Micheal learned about props and rigging offshore boats at Connor Marine, where he made lifelong friends and mentors with John Connor, Craig & Brett Archer, Steve Simon, and Priority One team owner, Greg Buchanan. More on Mike later.
THE TEAM HAS BEEN FORMED
The father-son duo was formed after the 1998 destruction of their 36 Skater. A crash, as stated before, that could have costed George his life. As the boat was being rebuilt in their driveway, they designed, constructed and rerigged the 36 to the newly formed F-3 Cat class. Micheal stated to his father, " If WE are going to put all this work and heart into this project, no one else is going to throttle this boat but Me ."
If you have followed them, you know exactly how this turned out…….
